Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of city streets, alleys, and public facilities to ensure a clean and safe environment.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery, including dump trucks, front-end loaders, and street sweepers, following all safety protocols.
- Assist in the maintenance of parks, landscaped areas, and public infrastructure such as signs and traffic control devices.
- Respond to emergency public works calls, including pothole repairs and debris removal during severe weather events.
- Inspect work sites to ensure compliance with local ordinances and environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with other city departments to coordinate large-scale cleanup and improvement projects.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid California Class C Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs), standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of construction and maintenance tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret basic maps and safety manuals.
- Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screening as part of the hiring process.
