Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections of municipal facilities, parks, and transportation infrastructure
- Operate specialized equipment including trucks, tractors, and power tools safely and efficiently
- Respond to citizen service requests within established SLAs and document work outcomes
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and municipal safety regulations
- Participate in emergency response operations during natural disasters
- Maintain accurate records of work activities and equipment usage
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years municipal/public works experience
- Valid California Class C driver's license with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
- Basic proficiency in GIS mapping and work order systems
- Effective communication skills in English and Spanish preferred
