Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on public infrastructure, including roads, sidewalks, and parks.
- Operate heavy machinery and hand tools safely to ensure facility and grounds upkeep.
- Assist in snow and ice removal operations during inclement weather to ensure public safety.
- Monitor and report on the condition of city assets and equipment.
- Respond to service requests from the public and internal departments in a timely and professional manner.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, OSHA standards, and city policies.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Valid Class C Kansas Driver's License with a good driving record is mandatory.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds and working in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of tools and maintenance procedures is preferred.
