Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain municipal equipment (snow plows, street sweepers, utility vehicles)
- Perform routine maintenance on public facilities and infrastructure
- Respond to emergency service requests (e.g., storm cleanup, water main breaks)
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure projects
- Document daily operations and submit maintenance reports
- Provide excellent customer service to residents and businesses
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Kansas driver's license with clean record
- Minimum 2 years equipment operation or maintenance experience
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in all weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of public works systems (water, sewer, roads)
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
