Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on public facilities, parks, and roads
- Operate and maintain municipal equipment (e.g., trucks, mowers, tools)
- Respond to citizen service requests and report infrastructure issues
- Assist in emergency preparedness and disaster response operations
- Ensure compliance with city safety regulations and environmental standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on community improvement projects
- Document work activities and maintain accurate records
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Louisiana driver's license with clean record
- Minimum 1 year experience in public works or similar field
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in outdoor/variable conditions
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and equipment operation
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred
