Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city facilities, parks, and public infrastructure
- Operate and maintain light machinery and hand tools for landscaping and construction tasks
- Respond promptly to service requests and emergency repairs across municipal properties
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards
- Assist with stormwater management and erosion control projects
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams for coordinated public works initiatives
- Document work activities and maintain equipment logs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid North Carolina driver's license with clean record
- Minimum 1 year experience in public works, construction, or maintenance
- OSHA 10-hour certification preferred
- Ability to operate landscaping equipment and power tools
- Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in outdoor conditions
- Basic knowledge of blueprint reading and site plans
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
