Responsibilities
- Maintain streets, sidewalks, and public facilities according to safety standards
- Operate heavy equipment and specialized machinery for construction projects
- Respond to emergency public works incidents during inclement weather
- Perform routine inspections of infrastructure assets
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Document work activities and maintain equipment maintenance logs
- Adhere to all municipal safety protocols and environmental regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid California Class C driver's license (Class B preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of public works or construction experience
- Certification in equipment operation (e.g., forklift, excavator) required
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in various weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Pass background check and drug screening
