Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair public infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and parks
- Operate heavy machinery (snow plows, graders, etc.) safely and efficiently
- Respond to emergency weather events and public service requests
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on city properties
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams for coordinated project execution
- Adhere to OSHA and municipal safety protocols at all times
- Document work activities and maintain accurate equipment logs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Massachusetts driver's license with clean record
- 1+ years experience in construction, maintenance, or related field
- Certification in heavy equipment operation (preferred)
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong commitment to public service and community values
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights/weekends during emergencies
