Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and maintain security protocols during overnight shifts
- Conduct regular facility inspections and headcounts per departmental standards
- Respond to emergencies and incidents with de-escalation techniques
- Document all incidents and maintain accurate shift reports
- Operate security systems and access control technologies
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during critical incidents
- Enforce institutional rules and regulations consistently
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- TX Correctional Peace Officer Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Valid Texas Driver's License
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Ability to pass rigorous background check and physical fitness assessment
- Experience in security, law enforcement, or military preferred
- Strong conflict resolution and communication skills
- Ability to work independently during overnight hours
