Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility regulations during overnight hours
- Conduct regular security checks and perimeter patrols
- Respond to emergencies and incidents with de-escalation protocols
- Document incidents and maintain detailed shift reports
- Collaborate with healthcare and rehabilitation staff during interventions
- Operate security systems including surveillance and control panels
- Mentor junior staff during shift rotations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) certification
- Minimum 1 year security or law enforcement experience
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Ability to pass rigorous background check and physical fitness test
- Strong conflict resolution and crisis management skills
- Flexibility to work rotating schedules including weekends
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) certification a plus
