Responsibilities
- Monitor and supervise inmate activities within correctional facilities during night shifts
- Conduct security inspections and enforce institutional policies and procedures
- Respond to emergencies and de-escalate conflicts with professionalism
- Complete detailed incident reports and maintain accurate documentation
- Collaborate with law enforcement and healthcare teams for inmate welfare
- Perform headcounts and ensure facility security protocols are maintained
- Provide crisis intervention and emergency response training
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- Valid driver's license and clean criminal record
- Ability to work rotating night shifts (10:00 PM - 6:00 AM)
- Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
- Physical fitness to meet correctional training requirements
- Basic computer literacy for report documentation
- Massachusetts Correctional Officer certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and psychological evaluation
