Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and maintain strict security within housing units and common areas.
- Conduct regular cell and facility searches to prevent the introduction of contraband.
- Enforce facility rules, regulations, and inmate conduct standards.
- Document all incidents, observations, and reports in the Shift Log accurately and timely.
- Supervise inmate meal services, recreation periods, and work assignments.
- Respond immediately to emergencies, including medical emergencies and altercations, utilizing de-escalation techniques when appropriate.
- Facilitate positive interactions and assist in the rehabilitation process of inmates.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and at least 21 years of age.
- No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history.
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation, drug screening, and medical evaluation.
- Must be available to work rotating shifts, including nights (10:00 PM - 6:00 AM) and weekends.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and perform duties for extended periods; valid driver's license preferred.
