Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and maintain order in correctional facilities during overnight shifts
- Conduct regular security checks and headcounts to ensure facility integrity
- Respond to emergencies and incidents with appropriate de-escalation techniques
- Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate documentation
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during critical situations
- Enforce institutional policies and procedures consistently
- Provide support to fellow officers during high-pressure scenarios
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
- Tennessee Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification
- Minimum 1 year security or law enforcement experience
- Valid Tennessee driver's license with clean record
- Ability to work independently during overnight hours (10 PM - 6 AM)
- Strong conflict resolution and crisis management skills
- Pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Physical ability to meet correctional facility requirements
