Responsibilities
- Receive, triage, and prioritize incoming emergency and non-emergency calls.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services to active incidents.
- Enter and update critical incident information into computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Maintain detailed and accurate logs of all communications and activities.
- Monitor multiple radio frequencies and provide real-time support to field units.
- Assist distressed callers by providing clear, life-saving instructions until help arrives.
- Assist in training incoming dispatchers and mentoring new team members.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are mandatory.
- Basic computer literacy and strong typing skills are essential.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm in high-stress, fast-paced environments.
