Responsibilities
- Monitor and dispatch emergency and non-emergency calls via radio and telephone systems.
- Enter and update accurate incident information into Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems in real-time.
- Provide critical information, directions, and instructions to responding law enforcement, fire, and medical personnel.
- Manage multi-line radio consoles and maintain strict radio discipline during high-pressure situations.
- Assist callers with emergency situations, providing clear, calm, and life-saving instructions.
- Prepare and maintain detailed logs and reports of all dispatch activities.
- Collaborate with other agencies and support units to ensure seamless communication.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Texas Class C Driverβs License with a good driving record.
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation, medical examination, and drug screen.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to speak clearly and concisely.
- Proficiency in basic computer operations and typing (minimum 35 WPM).
- Ability to remain calm, composed, and efficient during high-stress emergency situations.
