Responsibilities
- Conduct hourly security patrols and surveillance of facility grounds and housing units
- Monitor inmate behavior and enforce institutional rules and regulations
- Perform headcounts and maintain accurate inmate movement logs
- Respond to emergencies, medical incidents, and security breaches
- Screen visitors and packages for contraband
- Prepare detailed incident and activity reports
- Coordinate with law enforcement agencies during critical incidents
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA) certification
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Pass background check, drug screen, and physical fitness assessment
- Ability to work rotating night shifts (10:00 PM - 6:00 AM)
- Strong conflict resolution and crisis management skills
- Basic computer literacy for report documentation
