Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate population and facility security during overnight hours (10 PM - 6 AM)
- Conduct regular security rounds and headcounts to maintain order
- Respond to emergencies, medical incidents, and security breaches
- Enforce institutional rules and report disciplinary infractions
- Document incidents using digital reporting systems
- Collaborate with day-shift staff for seamless operations
- Maintain accurate logs and shift reports
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid California Driver's License
- U.S. Citizenship or legal resident status
- Ability to pass background check and psychological evaluation
- Physical fitness to handle emergency situations
- Basic computer proficiency for reporting systems
- Ability to work independently in high-stress environments
- Completion of Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) academy or equivalent
