Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility protocols during overnight shifts
- Conduct regular security checks and headcounts to ensure compliance
- Respond to emergencies, altercations, and medical incidents with appropriate protocols
- Document incidents, reports, and daily operations using digital systems
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and medical staff during critical incidents
- Maintain accurate logs and evidence handling procedures
- Participate in ongoing training on safety protocols and crisis management
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework preferred
- Valid Indiana driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Basic CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days
- Strong conflict resolution skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Experience in security, law enforcement, or corrections highly desirable
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
