Join the City of Mesa's Public Safety team as a Night Shift Dispatcher and become a vital lifeline for our community during critical hours. This high-impact role operates during overnight shifts (10:00 PM - 6:00 AM) to ensure seamless emergency response coordination. As the first point of contact during crises, you'll manage 911 calls, dispatch police/fire/EMS units, and maintain detailed incident logs while working in our state-of-the-art emergency communications center.

Responsibilities
- Manage high-volume 911 emergency calls with calm professionalism during overnight hours
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units using CAD/RMS systems with precise accuracy
- Maintain detailed incident documentation and coordinate multi-agency responses
- Monitor radio communications for public safety units across Mesa
- Provide critical information to first responders during emergency situations
- Operate emergency equipment following established protocols
- Collaborate with other dispatchers and supervisors during complex incidents
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- Minimum 1 year call center or public safety dispatch experience
- Ability to remain composed during high-stress emergency situations
- Valid Arizona Driver's License and clean driving record
- Pass criminal background check and drug screening
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Proficiency in computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
