Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility protocols during overnight hours
- Conduct regular patrols and headcounts to maintain security and prevent disturbances
- Respond to emergencies, medical incidents, and security breaches with tactical precision
- Accurately document incidents, inmate behavior, and facility operations in digital logs
- Transport inmates between facilities and court appearances following strict protocols
- Operate security systems including surveillance equipment and control room technology
- Maintain professional conduct while interacting with diverse populations under high-stress conditions
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- Valid California Driver's License with clean driving record
- U.S. citizenship and minimum age of 18 years
- Ability to pass rigorous background investigation and polygraph examination
- Successful completion of physical fitness assessment and medical screening
- Availability to work rotating night shifts (10 PM - 6 AM) including weekends and holidays
- Basic computer proficiency for digital reporting systems
- Ability to obtain and maintain Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification
