Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security information systems and events for potential threats or anomalies during the night shift.
- Respond to security alerts, investigate incidents, and escalate issues to senior analysts when necessary.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments of internal networks.
- Ensure compliance with federal security protocols and agency-specific policies.
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate logs in the SIEM system.
- Collaborate with day-shift teams to resolve complex security issues and close security gaps.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of security patches and software updates.
Qualifications
- Active U.S. Citizenship required (for federal clearance eligibility).
- Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Current Security+ or CISSP certification is a plus.
- 1-3 years of experience in network security, SOC operations, or IT support.
- Must be available to work rotating night shifts (e.g., 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM).
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening.
