Responsibilities
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot server systems and network infrastructure 24/7 to ensure continuous operational availability.
- Resolve complex technical incidents and provide tier-2 support for government staff during the night shift.
- Execute routine system backups, security patches, and software updates to mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Enforce strict information security protocols and compliance standards (NIST/FISMA) during evening operations.
- Document technical issues, resolutions, and system changes in the IT service management system (ITSM).
- Collaborate with day-shift teams to hand off critical issues and ensure seamless service continuity.
- Conduct periodic system health checks and generate performance reports for stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent military/experience).
- 3+ years of professional experience in IT support, systems administration, or network engineering.
- Strong technical proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, TCP/IP, and virtualization technologies.
- Valid CompTIA Security+ or Cisco CCNA certification preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and maintain high productivity during night shifts.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical staff.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully pass a background investigation and drug screen.
