Responsibilities
- System Monitoring & Maintenance: Proactively monitor server health, network traffic, and system performance during night shifts to ensure 24/7 operational continuity.
- Ticket Resolution: Manage and resolve complex IT tickets for federal personnel, including hardware, software, and network issues.
- Security Compliance: Enforce strict security protocols and access controls in adherence to federal standards (NIST, FISMA).
- Patch Management: Apply security patches and updates to systems outside of peak business hours to minimize downtime.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of technical issues, resolutions, and system changes in the Service Desk ticketing system.
- Collaboration: Communicate effectively with day-shift teams for handovers and coordinate on urgent escalations.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Clearance: Active Secret or Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or help desk roles.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, and remote access tools (VPN, RDP).
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.
