Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage network infrastructure 24/7 to ensure high availability and minimal downtime.
- Diagnose and resolve complex network issues, including routing, switching, and wireless connectivity problems.
- Implement and maintain network security protocols and firewalls to protect sensitive government data.
- Perform routine network maintenance, including firmware updates and configuration changes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute network upgrades and expansions.
- Document network configurations, changes, and incident reports accurately and thoroughly.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent advanced certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network engineering, with a strong preference for night shift experience.
- Deep knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, VLANs) and hardware (Cisco, Juniper).
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently during night hours.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO).
