Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to network security alerts and intrusion attempts occurring during the night shift.
- Configure and maintain firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and VPN gateways to enforce security policies.
- Perform scheduled patch management and vulnerability scanning on critical government servers.
- Investigate security incidents, document findings, and collaborate with the day shift team for remediation.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal cybersecurity regulations and standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network administration or cybersecurity (government experience preferred).
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and common security protocols.
- Certifications such as CISSP, Security+, or CEH are highly desirable.
- Must be available to work nights (e.g., 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM or similar).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
