Responsibilities
- Manage 911 calls during overnight hours (10 PM - 6 AM)
- Dispatch police/fire/EMS resources with precision
- Maintain radio communication protocols
- Update CAD systems with real-time incident data
- Coordinate multi-agency emergency responses
- Provide crisis intervention to callers
- Complete detailed incident documentation
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- POST Public Safety Dispatcher certification
- 1+ years emergency dispatch experience
- Valid California Class C driver's license
- Ability to pass background check & polygraph
- Typing speed: 40+ WPM
- Clear speaking voice & calm demeanor
- Knowledge of San Jose geography
