Responsibilities
- Patrol designated city zones during night hours (10 PM - 6 AM) to deter crime and ensure public safety
- Respond rapidly to emergency calls, accidents, and incidents requiring immediate intervention
- Conduct thorough investigations of nighttime disturbances and security breaches
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and emergency services during multi-agency operations
- Monitor surveillance systems and report suspicious activities in real-time
- Provide assistance to citizens and businesses requiring nighttime support
- Maintain detailed incident reports and digital evidence documentation
- Participate in continuous training for evolving nighttime safety protocols
Qualifications
- Valid California Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification
- Minimum 2 years of public safety or law enforcement experience
- Ability to work independently in low-visibility, high-pressure environments
- Advanced de-escalation techniques for nighttime conflict resolution
- Strong knowledge of San Jose's geography and nighttime hotspots
- Class C California driver's license with clean record
- Ability to pass rigorous background check and polygraph examination
- Proficiency in surveillance technology and digital reporting systems
