Responsibilities
- Monitor surveillance systems and patrol designated areas to ensure public safety and property security
- Respond promptly to emergency calls, incidents, and citizen requests during overnight hours
- Document incidents, maintain accurate logs, and prepare detailed shift reports
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and emergency responders during critical situations
- Conduct regular safety inspections and implement preventative security measures
- Provide assistance to residents, visitors, and government staff during non-standard hours
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- Valid DC Security Guard License or ability to obtain within 30 days
- Minimum 2 years security, law enforcement, or military experience
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure
- Strong communication skills with ability to de-escalate tense situations
- Proficiency with surveillance technology and reporting systems
- Must pass background check and drug screening
- Flexibility to work rotating weekends and holidays
