Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts and events in real-time to identify potential threats.
- Investigate and triage security incidents using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar).
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government security protocols.
- Collaborate with day-shift teams to document findings and escalate critical issues.
- Perform routine vulnerability assessments and patch management reviews.
- Conduct nightly audits of system logs and access controls.
- Maintain detailed incident reports and contribute to post-incident reviews.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; Associate’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a SOC or network security environment.
- Ability to work a rotating night shift schedule (e.g., 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM).
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, firewalls, and VPN technologies.
- Experience with government security standards (NIST, FISMA).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status is required for government clearance.
