Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and maintain security protocols during overnight shifts
- Conduct regular facility inspections and headcounts to ensure compliance
- Respond to emergencies and incidents following established procedures
- Document incidents and maintain detailed shift reports
- Collaborate with day-shift personnel for seamless operations
- Enforce department policies and state regulations consistently
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Washington State driver's license
- Ability to pass background check and polygraph examination
- Completion of correctional officer training academy within 6 months
- Physical ability to pass fitness standards including restraint techniques
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation systems
