Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage for prohibited items using X-ray machines and manual search techniques
- Conduct pat-down searches and baggage inspections following TSA protocols
- Operate advanced security technology including ETD (Explosive Trace Detection) systems
- Monitor security checkpoints and respond to suspicious activity or emergencies
- Maintain detailed documentation of security incidents and screening activities
- Provide courteous assistance to travelers with special screening needs
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
- Pass background investigation and drug screening
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn security systems
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
