Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of our server hardware and network systems during evening and overnight shifts.
Responsibilities
- Monitor server performance, security logs, and network traffic to ensure 99.9% uptime for city applications.
- Perform proactive patch management, system backups, and disaster recovery testing during off-peak hours.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues reported by internal government agencies and the public.
- Manage user access control, permissions, and identity verification for government databases.
- Conduct regular security audits to ensure compliance with federal and state data protection regulations.
- Document all incident reports, change requests, and maintenance procedures in the central ticketing system.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent technical experience).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in System Administration or Network Operations.
- Must be available to work a rotating night shift schedule (e.g., 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM).
- Strong knowledge of Linux, Windows Server, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Familiarity with ITIL framework and incident management processes.
- Certification such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, or CCNA is highly preferred.
