Responsibilities
- Monitor System Health: Oversee server performance, network traffic, and system logs 24/7 to ensure uninterrupted service delivery for government agencies.
- Execute Maintenance: Perform scheduled patch management, security updates, and system backups during off-peak hours to minimize disruption.
- Troubleshoot Issues: Resolve technical incidents, outages, and hardware failures efficiently to restore operations and minimize downtime.
- Security Compliance: Enforce strict IT security protocols, conduct vulnerability assessments, and manage access controls to protect state data.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate technical documentation and logs for all system changes and maintenance activities.
- Collaboration: Liaise with the day shift team to report issues, hand off tickets, and coordinate on major infrastructure projects.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in systems administration or IT support.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent technical certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+, AWS Certified).
- Night Shift Availability: Must be willing and able to work rotating night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Linux administration, Active Directory, and networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues under pressure.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to document issues and collaborate with diverse teams.
