Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on highways, bridges, and traffic control systems during night hours
- Operate heavy machinery including sweepers, patch trucks, and traffic control devices
- Conduct infrastructure inspections and document maintenance activities using digital reporting tools
- Respond to emergency maintenance calls with rapid deployment teams
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize traffic flow solutions
- Implement state safety protocols and OSHA compliance standards
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and inventory usage
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with airbrake endorsement
- Minimum 2 years heavy equipment operation or transportation maintenance experience
- OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification (or obtain within 30 days)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Proficiency with maintenance management software (e.g., Maximo, Cityworks)
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Experience with traffic control zone setup and nighttime operations
