Responsibilities
- Develop and implement transportation corridor plans for urban and rural areas
- Analyze traffic data using GIS and modeling software (TransCAD, Vistro)
- Coordinate with local governments on infrastructure improvement projects
- Prepare environmental impact assessments and NEPA documentation
- Manage public engagement sessions and stakeholder communications
- Oversee capital project budgets and compliance with DOT regulations
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct peer reviews
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Planning
- Minimum 3 years of relevant transportation engineering experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in North Carolina
- Proficiency in transportation modeling software and GIS applications
- Demonstrated experience with NEPA compliance processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- Master's degree preferred for advanced planning roles
