Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspection and maintenance of highways, bridges, and traffic control systems during overnight hours
- Operate heavy machinery including street sweepers, patching equipment, and emergency response vehicles
- Respond to weather-related emergencies and traffic incidents during shift hours
- Document maintenance activities using digital reporting systems and safety compliance logs
- Collaborate with traffic management centers and emergency services for coordinated response
- Conduct pre-shift equipment inspections and safety briefings
Qualifications
- Valid California Class C Driver's License with clean record
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works or transportation maintenance
- OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification
- Ability to work independently in low-visibility conditions
- Strong knowledge of traffic control and work zone safety protocols
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate heavy machinery
- High school diploma or equivalent
