Responsibilities
- Lead design and implementation of multimodal transportation systems
- Oversee environmental compliance (NEPA, CEQA) for major infrastructure
- Manage $10M+ budgets and cross-departmental project teams
- Develop innovative traffic management solutions for port-adjacent corridors
- Conduct feasibility studies for sustainable transportation initiatives
- Coordinate with city, county, and federal agencies
- Mentor junior engineers on technical standards
- Prepare technical reports and regulatory submissions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Civil Engineering or related field (MS preferred)
- 5+ years transportation engineering experience in California
- PE license required
- Expertise in traffic modeling software (VISSIM, Synchro)
- Strong knowledge of Caltrans design standards
- Experience with environmental documentation processes
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects under tight deadlines
