Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch police units using CAD systems while maintaining accurate logs
- Interpret and relay critical information to field personnel
- Provide crisis intervention and calming instructions to callers
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Operate radio systems and specialized communication equipment
- Maintain strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Must pass background check and polygraph examination
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (tested during application)
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure environments
- Valid Washington State driver's license
- US citizenship or legal resident status
- Successful completion of pre-employment medical evaluation
- No felony convictions
