Responsibilities
- Maintain park grounds, facilities, and equipment ensuring safety and aesthetic standards
- Lead recreational programs including youth sports, senior activities, and community events
- Perform routine inspections and report maintenance needs promptly
- Interact with the public to provide information, resolve inquiries, and ensure positive experiences
- Assist in seasonal park preparations, setup/takedown for events, and emergency response
- Collaborate with staff on program development and community outreach initiatives
- Adhere to safety protocols, departmental policies, and environmental standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in recreation or related field preferred
- 1+ years experience in park maintenance, event coordination, or customer service
- Valid California Driver's License with clean driving record
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in diverse environments
- Physical ability to perform manual labor (lifting up to 50 lbs, extended outdoor work)
- Proficiency with basic office software and facility management tools
