Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance of parks, trails, and athletic fields (mowing, pruning, irrigation, litter removal)
- Operate maintenance equipment (mowers, trimmers, small machinery) safely and efficiently
- Set up, supervise, and break down recreational programs, events, and sports activities
- Enforce park rules, ensure visitor safety, and provide excellent customer service
- Inspect facilities and equipment, report maintenance needs, and assist with minor repairs
- Support seasonal initiatives (snow removal, event preparation, habitat restoration)
- Collaborate with staff to implement inclusive programming for diverse community groups
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certification (e.g., CPR/First Aid) preferred
- 6+ months experience in park maintenance, landscaping, or recreation programs
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks (lifting 50+ lbs, bending, prolonged outdoor work)
- Valid Minnesota driver's license with clean driving record
- Strong communication skills and commitment to customer service excellence
- Basic knowledge of turf management, horticulture, or recreation operations
- Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays
