Responsibilities
- Perform daily park maintenance including landscaping, irrigation systems, and playground equipment inspections
- Operate heavy machinery (mowers, tractors, sprayers) and hand tools for groundskeeping tasks
- Coordinate seasonal setups for sports leagues, festivals, and community events
- Enforce park safety protocols and respond to visitor inquiries with exceptional customer service
- Collaborate with maintenance teams on facility repairs and storm damage recovery
- Document maintenance activities and submit equipment usage reports
- Participate in environmental conservation initiatives including tree planting and habitat preservation
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; certifications in turf management or horticulture preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or park operations
- Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform strenuous outdoor activities in varying weather conditions
- OSHA 10-hour safety certification or willingness to complete upon hire
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in facility inspections
- Valid CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 60 days
- Proficiency in basic GIS mapping for asset tracking and maintenance scheduling
