Responsibilities
- Perform routine grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, raking, and litter removal in city parks and facilities.
- Operate and maintain landscaping equipment, such as mowers, trimmers, and edgers (equipment provided).
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, picnic areas, and park facilities to ensure a high standard of hygiene.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of recreational events, sports games, and community programs.
- Monitor park activities to ensure safety compliance and report any maintenance issues or hazards to supervisors.
- Water plants, trees, and flowerbeds to maintain the aesthetic appeal of public spaces.
- Interact with park visitors and provide courteous customer service information.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid California Class C Driverβs License and a satisfactory driving record.
- Physical ability to perform strenuous outdoor labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs and operating heavy machinery.
- Basic knowledge of landscaping practices, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong commitment to public service and teamwork.
