As a Parks and Recreation Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents and visitors alike. You will work outdoors in a variety of environments, ensuring our community spaces remain safe, clean, and welcoming.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine landscaping tasks, including mowing, edging, weeding, and trimming grass and shrubs.
- Maintain athletic fields, playgrounds, and park facilities to ensure safety and cleanliness.
- Assist in the set-up and tear-down of recreational events and community programs.
- Operate and maintain landscaping equipment, including mowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers.
- Clear snow, ice, and debris from sidewalks and parking lots during winter months.
- Interact with the public in a professional and friendly manner, providing information and assistance.
- Monitor inventory of supplies and report maintenance needs to supervisors.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Previous experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or public service is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Basic knowledge of gardening tools and landscaping equipment.
- Strong commitment to customer service and community engagement.
