Responsibilities
- Maintain athletic fields, parks, and green spaces through mowing, raking, trimming, and landscaping duties.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of park facilities, restrooms, and playground equipment to ensure safety and hygiene standards.
- Operate and maintain landscaping equipment, including mowers, trimmers, and tractors, following all safety protocols.
- Assist with setting up and breaking down for community events, festivals, and recreational programs.
- Monitor park grounds for safety hazards, such as debris, broken equipment, or vandalism, and report issues promptly.
- Interact with the public in a professional manner, providing information and assistance to visitors and community members.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Virginia Driver's License with a good driving record preferred.
- Physical ability to perform heavy manual labor, including lifting heavy objects, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions.
- Previous experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, or public works is a plus but not strictly required.
- Basic knowledge of landscaping equipment and tools is an advantage.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
