Responsibilities
- Maintain and clean park facilities, including restrooms, picnic areas, and playgrounds, ensuring a welcoming environment for visitors.
- Perform routine landscaping tasks such as mowing, weeding, trimming, and snow removal to preserve the aesthetic appeal of public spaces.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of recreational equipment for sports leagues, concerts, and community events.
- Monitor park grounds to ensure compliance with safety regulations and report any maintenance issues or hazards immediately.
- Interact with the public in a professional and friendly manner, answering inquiries and providing information about park programs and facilities.
- Operate and maintain light landscaping and maintenance machinery, including lawnmowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or custodial work is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and working in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
- Basic knowledge of safety procedures and equipment operation is a plus.
