Key Duties:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the general upkeep of parks, athletic fields, and recreational facilities.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair parks, playgrounds, trails, and recreational facilities to ensure safety and aesthetic appeal.
- Perform landscaping duties including mowing, trimming, planting, and seasonal cleanup.
- Operate and perform routine maintenance on heavy equipment such as mowers, tractors, and skid steers.
- Monitor park areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations and address hazards immediately.
- Assist in the organization and setup of community events, sports tournaments, and public programs.
- Remove litter, snow, and debris from sidewalks, parking lots, and roadways during winter months.
- Interact positively with the public, answering inquiries and providing excellent customer service.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid Kansas driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
- Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or public works is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with operating landscaping machinery and tools.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and early mornings.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality work.
