The City of Scottsdale is seeking dedicated individuals to join our Parks and Recreation team. We are currently offering a generous $5,000 Sign-On Bonus for qualified candidates who are ready to contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of our world-class desert parks.
In this role, you will play a vital part in keeping Scottsdale beautiful, ensuring our residents and visitors have safe, clean, and enjoyable recreational spaces year-round. If you have a strong work ethic and a desire to serve the public, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair park facilities, including restrooms, picnic areas, and playground equipment to ensure safety and cleanliness standards.
- Perform general landscaping duties, including mowing, weeding, trimming, and planting seasonal flowers and trees.
- Assist with the setup, operation, and breakdown of community events, festivals, sports leagues, and recreational programs.
- Collect and dispose of trash, litter, and recyclables throughout park areas and along public right-of-ways.
- Monitor park activities to ensure compliance with park rules, safety regulations, and ordinances.
- Operate power tools, landscaping machinery, and light vehicles as required for daily operations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
- Valid Arizona Class D Driver's License (or ability to obtain one) and a clean driving record.
- Basic knowledge of landscaping, gardening, or park maintenance practices is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively and professionally with the public.
- Reliable attendance, punctuality, and the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
