Responsibilities
- Maintain park landscapes, athletic fields, and green spaces through mowing, pruning, irrigation, and seasonal planting
- Operate and perform routine maintenance on park equipment (mowers, tractors, irrigation systems)
- Inspect and repair playgrounds, benches, shelters, and other park amenities
- Support special events setup/breakdown including concerts, festivals, and youth sports
- Implement erosion control measures and sustainable landscaping practices
- Respond to weather-related park emergencies (snow removal, storm cleanup)
- Collaborate with volunteer groups for community beautification projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Nebraska driver's license with clean record
- 6+ months of landscaping, groundskeeping, or park maintenance experience
- Ability to operate power tools and heavy machinery safely
- Basic knowledge of horticulture and turf management preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Strong communication skills for public interactions
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 60 days)
