Responsibilities
- Maintain and clean public parks, playgrounds, athletic fields, and recreational facilities to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
- Assist in the planning, setup, and breakdown of community events, festivals, and sports tournaments throughout Scottsdale.
- Perform basic landscaping duties including mowing, trimming, raking, and planting flowers or trees.
- Monitor park facilities for safety hazards, report maintenance needs, and perform minor repairs as needed.
- Interact positively with the public, answering questions and providing excellent customer service to residents and visitors.
- Operate light equipment and vehicles, including golf carts and mowers, following all safety protocols.
- Manage waste disposal and recycling programs within park boundaries.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; some college in Parks and Recreation or related field is a plus.
- Valid Arizona Driver's License and clean driving record required.
- Physical ability to perform strenuous outdoor labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
- Basic knowledge of landscaping tools, equipment, and safety procedures.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as required by park schedules.
- Must pass a background check and drug screen prior to employment.
