Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance of parks, athletic fields, and green spaces including mowing, pruning, irrigation checks, and trash removal
- Operate light machinery (mowers, trimmers, tractors) safely and efficiently
- Assist in facility setup for events, sports leagues, and community programs
- Monitor park conditions, identify hazards, and report maintenance needs
- Provide exceptional customer service to park visitors and program participants
- Participate in seasonal projects like tree planting, playground installation, or habitat restoration
- Collaborate with team members on special events and emergency response protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Arizona Driver's License (Class C)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in varying weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of landscaping tools and equipment maintenance
- Strong communication skills and commitment to public service values
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or recreation preferred but not required
